Anadolu Isuzu is a joint-stock company whose major shareholders are the Turkish Anadolu Group and the Japanese companies Isuzu and Itochu. The company is primarily involved in producing and marketing commercial vehicles, including light trucks, pick-ups and buses.
Anadolu Isuzu's manufacturing experience stretches back to the foundation of Celik Montaj Company, which began building light trucks and motorcycles in 1965. The company built Skoda trucks until 1986. After signing the licensing agreement with ISUZU in 1983, production of Isuzu vehicles began at the Kartal plant in Istanbul in July 1984.
At the end of 2002, Anadolu Isuzu controlled 29% of the light truck market in Turkey and had 34 sales outlets and 110 service and spare part centers throughout the country.
